1. This competition is open to amateur photographers who are Saskatchewan residents. Anyone who
earns at least $15,000.00 (gross) annually from photography and/or who is a regular member of and/
or pays dues to a professional photography association does not qualify as amateur and therefore
cannot enter this competition.
2. All entries must be the work of the entrant including any photo editing. Printing may be done at any
commercial or private printer.
3. All entries must be suitable for public viewing. Entries deemed unsuitable for public viewing by the
SaskAm committee will not be judged or displayed.
4. Images that won awards at any previous SaskAm Photo Competition are ineligible. An image can
only be entered in one category.
5. Each entry will only be judged in the category in which it was entered.
6. A minimal amount of post processing is allowed in all categories. Except in the “Altered
Reality”category, processed images must represent the original image. See the SaskAm FAQ for
details.
7. Any amount of photo editing and manipulation may be used in the “Altered Reality” category.
Images in this category must be based on a photograph or photographs.
8. Youth (18 and under) may enter up to 4 photos in one of the “Youth” categories free of charge.
Images submitted to the Youth categories may be of any subject and are judged amongst themselves.
Youth may participate in any non-”Youth”category on the same basis as other entrants (including
providing an entry fee for each non-”Youth” category entry).
9. Only prints are accepted for the SaskAm Photo Competition. Photographs that are a minimum 8
inches by 8 inches, to a maximum of 11x14 inches can be entered. All images must be mounted on a
matt board or foam core backing with a finished size of 11x14 inches. Matting is accepted but not
required. Glass and framing will not be accepted.
10. Name, title of image, and category must appear on the back in the TOP RIGHT hand corner for
proper identification and orientation. Entries with any identifying marks on the front will not be
accepted.
11. Completed and signed entry forms with entry fees, and a self-addressed stamped envelope, if
applicable, must accompany all entries. A digital copy (for presentation at the awards ceremony and
promotion such as publication in the awards list) may accompany your entries but must be available
before any prizes are awarded. If a digital copy is not available, the SaskAm committee has
permission to scan entries for these purposes.
12. Entries not picked up the night of the awards ceremony or accompanied by a self-address, stamped
envelope become property of the Regina Photo Club.
13. All entries will be handled with care; however SaskAm and its affiliates and sponsors will not assume
responsibility for loss or damage of entries.
14. Refer to the entry form for entry deadlines.
15. The decisions of the judges and the SaskAm committee are final. The SaskAm committee reserves the
right to limit the number of entries displayed as space permits.
16. The rights of all entries remain with the photographer. Entrants agree that the SaskAm Photo
Competition and its affiliates may use any image entered for promotional materials with a photo
credit awarded to the photographer.
17. Certain SaskAm sponsors have the option of choosing a copy of one of the photographs submitted to
the SaskAm Photo Competition to hang in their office. The SaskAm committee will pay for this
process, but does not award additional funds to the entrants whose photographs are chosen. The
SaskAm committee will notify photographers if their image(s) are chosen.
